ABOUT MRS. T
Twanda Smith, a lifelong resident of Houston, Texas, earned her BS in Elementary Education with a minor in English from Texas College, along with a certified kindergarten endorsement. She pursued additional graduate coursework in Reading and Literacy at Texas Southern University. Twanda also holds a Montessori certification and is a certified Gifted and Talented educator. After spending 16 years teaching in a traditional classroom, she transitioned to Creative Drama, dedicating the next 18 years to mastering the integration of theatre into education. Now retired after 34 years in the field, she remains committed to character development in children through her company, Twanda’s Theatre on Wheels. Through creative storytelling, she inspires children to use their imagination, fostering kindness, honesty, trustworthiness, love, and perseverance.

T is for Texas
Participants will grab their bags, boots, and cowboy hats as they embark on an exciting journey across Texas with Mrs. T, exploring everything from A to Z. This adventure will come to life with music, character puppets, props, and plenty of movement. As they wrap up the experience, they’ll pantomime along to the cheerful tune of The Eyes of Texas Are Upon You. Along the way, they’ll discover the meaning of loyalty and embrace the Texas motto, "Friendship."

ABIYOYO
Join Mrs. T for an engaging and interactive performance exploring African customs and traditions. Why Mosquitoes Buzz in People's Ears is a captivating tale featuring a mosquito, an iguana, and a yam. Participants will explore the story by observing, identifying, comparing, and mimicking the movements of jungle animals. Through this interactive experience, they will learn the value of being honest and truthful.
The Story of Little Bear's Terrible Unbearable Beary Bad Day is a heartfelt tale that delves into emotions and feelings. From the moment Little Bear wakes up in a grumpy mood, his day seems to go from bad to worse—until a friend helps him understand the power of kindness and compassion. Through this story, participants will explore the meaning of forgiveness.
In Humpty Dumpty the Musical, participants will discover the power of Perseverance (Never Give Up). Joining Humpty Dumpty and his friends, Little Miss Muffet and Jack and Jill, they’ll embark on a lively musical journey filled with rhyme and rhythm. Along the way, they’ll explore the importance of compassion and genuine friendship.

Sam I Am
Sam I Am woke up one morning feeling grumpy because his plate held the same old meal. "I do not want green eggs and ham! I do not like them, Sam I Am!" With the help of Mrs. T, participants will embark on a rhyming adventure to inspire Sam to explore a variety of colorful foods he can enjoy anytime. Along the way, they will learn to recognize and read color words, explore vibrant foods, sing a lively song about the colors of the rainbow, and act out this playful rhyme.
